Good Fortune
"Good Fortune" was re-installed on September 23, 2022 in Live Oak Park, Berkeley, California. The panel was re-installed in a niche, of a small wall so that the panel lies flush with the wall surface. This wall was constructed for the sole purpose of
housing this piece, and the wall is located adjacent to the playground area and borders the tot-lot.
I am grateful to the Berkeley Arts Commission, and in particular Jen Lovvorn, for working with me to find an appropriate placement of "Good Fortune". In fact, this is a more suitable location for this piece as it is easily visible from the
street, its brightly-hued blues showing up, and it is more easily accessible to children as it borders their play area.
It also receives much more natural light than it ever did in its past location.
Thank you also to Riley Doty and his assistant Phylece Snyder for the care and expertise that they brought to the installation
of "Good Fortune" and its companion piece "Good Fortune: Tails (from a Pandemic)". It was a pleasure working with them.

Malvina Reynold's face collaged on the image of a Lincoln penny, with an alteration of the penny's text.
"Good Fortune" was inspired by the song "Magic Penny" written and performed by Malvina Reynolds.
Richard (Dick) Graf was my photo-printmaking instructor at the San Francisco Art Institute in the 1980's. He was a superb teacher and a wonderful mentor. I would not be here where I am as an artist, without his tutelage.
